Formed on August 18, 2010, by Tim Gilliland, the Yuma Chapter continues to share the comfort and joy of pet therapy throughout the community. Now led by Micaela Rodriguez, the chapter’s eleven dedicated volunteers bring smiles and companionship to people of all ages, demonstrating the powerful connection between humans and their therapy pets.
Meet Our Chapter Leader
Micaela Rodriguez became a Love on a Leash® volunteer in 2024 and now leads the Yuma Chapter with warmth and enthusiasm. She shares the joy of pet therapy with her two gentle giants—Kronk, a Great Pyrenees, and Mochi, an Anatolian Pyrenees. Micaela is passionate about spreading comfort and smiles throughout the community and supporting her fellow volunteers as they make a positive difference through the power of the human animal bond.
