Founded on August 4, 2017, by Lindsey Boubel and Valerie Greenberg, the Ojai Chapter serves Ojai and the surrounding area. Now led by Barb Rugo and Laura Loebl, the chapter’s sixteen dedicated volunteers bring comfort, joy, and companionship to the community through the healing power of pet therapy, spreading smiles wherever they visit.

Barb Rugo has been a dedicated Love on a Leash® volunteer since 2023 and co-leads the Ojai Chapter with kindness and enthusiasm. She shares the joy of pet therapy with her Persian cat, Alley, whose gentle nature brings comfort and smiles to everyone they meet. Barb’s warmth and commitment to the mission of Love on a Leash® help strengthen her chapter’s impact in the Ojai community.
