Established on August 9, 2016, by Fay Fults and Denise West, the Metro East chapter serves the communities of Monroe, St. Clair, Madison, Jersey, and Macoupin Counties. Under Denise West’s leadership, the chapter’s dedicated volunteer teams continue to share the comfort, love, and joy of pet therapy throughout the region, bringing smiles and connection to people of all ages.

Denise West has been a dedicated Love on a Leash® volunteer since 2015 and leads the Metro East chapter with compassion and enthusiasm. She shares the joy of pet therapy with her two Samoyeds, Layla and Zoe, whose friendly smiles and gentle nature brighten every visit. Denise’s warmth, leadership, and commitment to the mission of Love on a Leash® continue to inspire her fellow volunteers and strengthen the chapter’s presence across the Metro East community.
