Love on a Leash®

The Kennebec Valley chapter was established in November of 2015. The chapter coordinates multiple group visits each month to senior living facilities, schools, and libraries not only in the Kennebec Valley area, but throughout other parts of Maine as well. Many members visit additional sites independently. We also enjoy participating in community events.

Meet Our Chapter Leader

Pat Koven has been the Kennebec Valley chapter leader since March of 2019. She lives in the Gardiner area with her four Australian Shepherds, 6 cats, and assorted chickens and guinea hens. She is currently certified with Willy the Australian Shepherd who gets recognized around the state much more often than Pat does. Pat is a certified animal trainer who specializes in behavioral concerns. When she is not volunteering with Love on a Leash®, Pat enjoys training her chickens! Her favorite part about volunteering with Love on a Leash® is letting Willy make his magical connections with people far and wide. His smile and his wiggly butt are unforgettable.
