Love on a Leash®

The Coastal Carolina chapter was established in March of 2011. The chapter teams visit senior living facilities, hospitals, schools, and libraries in Carteret, Onslow, Craven and Pamlico counties. Some teams do group visits at libraries and military installations. We participate in many community events throughout the year and particularly love attending the Veterans’ Day Parade in Morehead City and local town Christmas parades.

Meet Our Chapter Leader

Pat Rapaport formed the Coastal Carolina chapter and has served as chapter leader since March 2011. She lives in Beaufort and was first certified with her Golden Retrievers Lily and Dallas from 2010-2016; she is currently certified with Charlie, a Golden Retriever who especially loves greeting medical staff at the local hospital. Pat is also a certified dog trainer and when she is not working or volunteering with Love on a Leash®, she enjoys sharing fun activities with her goldens and reading. Her favorite part about volunteering with Love on a Leash® is the joy and warmth she feels when her therapy dogs touch someone's heart!
