Love on a Leash®

The Greenville chapter was established in January of 2017. The chapter coordinates multiple group visits each month at Windsor Rehab, Brookdale Senior Living, and various public libraries, as well as participating in community events when invited. Our volunteer teams are spread out, so most teams also visit sites near their homes independently. We meet and socialize quarterly at someone’s home or at a local restaurant that allows us to bring our pets.

Meet Our Chapter Leader

Peggy Gooch was certified with her beloved German Shepherd, Arlo, from 2016 to 2024, and has been the Greenville chapter leader since 2018. When she isn’t volunteering with Love on a Leash®, Peggy is an amateur radio operator (KB5JUW). Peggy and Arlo were involved with Victim's Relief Ministry, Crisis Response Ministry, and the Visiting Nurses association. Arlo was a R.E.A.D. Education Assistance dog and had earned his AKC therapy dog excellence certificate. It took a couple of years, but Peggy found another dog to carry on sweet Arlo's legacy. Peggy's Golden Retriever, Teddy, became a certified therapy dog in January 2026. They live in Greenville.
