Love on a Leash®

Established on October 10, 2014, by Carol Mitchel and Bonnie Lake, the Heartland chapter continues to make a meaningful impact through the power of pet therapy. Now led by Steve Jourdan, the chapter’s 15 dedicated volunteer teams share their therapy pets’ love and comfort with people across the community, brightening lives and spreading joy wherever they visit.

Meet Our Leader

Steve Jourdan has been a dedicated Love on a Leash® volunteer since 2016 and now leads the Heartland chapter with enthusiasm and care. He shares the joy of pet therapy alongside his second therapy pet, Border Collie, Beau, bringing smiles and comfort to everyone they meet. As chapter leader, Steve supports his team of volunteers and promotes the mission of Love on a Leash® by fostering meaningful connections between people and their therapy pets.
